History and Culture

The church of Dareizé dates back to the 12th century, although little remains from that period. Its choir contains a fresco from 1949 by Louis Josserand. The Chapel of the Holy Spirit in the church has a 16th-century holy-water font engraved with the year 1596.

The old Château de Chanzé dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries and can be seen from the road, but is not open to visitors. A second Château de Chanzé was built in 1857 with four small watchtowers. The Chanzé site at the eastern end of Dareizé overlooks the Soanan Valley.

Wine

The sales and tasting area of Domaine de la Revol in Dareizé is open daily to interested visitors. Visits to the wine cellar are by appointment only; booking in advance by telephone is recommended.
