The Église d'Ouroux is considered a Romanesque-Byzantine church with a 12th-century bell tower. A Star of David and a monstrance are depicted on the roof of the bell tower. The bell tower has been classified as a Monument historique since 21 December 1982, while the rest of the church has been listed since the same date.

The Église d'Ouroux can be visited free of charge individually or in groups every day throughout the year. The Comité des Fêtes of Ouroux traditionally organizes the “Cochon grillé” on 13 July.

Hiking and Circular Routes

Le Chemin de Deux-Grosnes is a 74 km long long-distance hiking trail connecting the seven historic municipalities of Monsols, Saint-Christophe, Trades, Saint-Mamert, Saint-Jacques-des-Arrêts, Ouroux and Avenas. The Boucle d'Ouroux on Le Chemin de Deux-Grosnes is 13.3 km long, includes 554 metres of ascent and takes around 4 hours 30 minutes.

The Circuit d'Ouroux offers, in addition to the main 22 km loop, three shorter variants of 3.5 km, 11.4 km and 17.5 km. The predominantly forested route passes through varied landscapes. It runs near the three castles of Gros Bois, La Carelle and Arcis, which differ considerably in architecture and style.

Cycling Routes

The M11 mountain bike route from Ouroux to Avenas offers a panorama of the Montagne de Rochefort. The M12 from Monsols to Ouroux leads through valleys and along ridgelines; on the return journey to Monsols, it passes through the forest and includes two beautiful descents near Ouroux and Saint-Mamert.

Agriculture and Tastings

The Eco-ferme du Carruge offers tastings of goat cheese in original shapes, including plain cheese as well as varieties with herbs or spices. The farm can be visited freely; guided walks focusing on natural history are also available.
