Culture and History

The Palais de l'ÃŽle was classified as a historic monument in 1900. It is now a museum. The Palais de l'ÃŽle also served as a prison, courthouse, and administrative center.

In the Middle Ages, numerous craftspeople settled along the Thiou River in Annecy and used its water power. The site features signposted paths and games for visitors to use independently.
