Culture
The Cromlech of Andilly is a prehistoric megalithic monument at Place de la Crèche in Charly. The former presbytery of Andilly is now an exhibition space with a carillon and a medieval garden.
In the Grand Parc d’Andilly, the architectural heritage restored by the “Le Petit Pays” association preserves the memory of former mills.
History
The first cheese dairy in Charly was established in 1865 as a cooperative dairy with 57 members; the cheesemaker used the milk to produce Emmental cheese or butter.
The Chapelle de Charly, also known as the Chapelle Saint-Jacques, is a religious building dating from the 15th century. Its bell tower was listed as a Monument historique on 12 May 1975. Jacques Fusier commissioned the chapel in 1454. After a fire at the end of the 15th century, it was rebuilt in 1541; following another fire in 1787, it was given its present onion-shaped bell tower.
