Culture and History

The Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation en Ardèche was founded by former members of the Resistance in Ardèche. Since 1992, it has housed a permanent collection built up through numerous donations from private individuals, former members of the Resistance or deportees, as well as regional associations.

The Église Saint-Etienne de Mélas is listed as a historic monument but is closed to the public. Part of the large weir at the Domaine de Joviac on the Joviac stream, on plot CI 19 of the Le Teil cadastral map, formerly AB 301, was listed as a historic monument by decree of 2 July 2001.

Some building façades on Rue Kléber in Le Teil still bear traces of the prosperity of its heyday between the 17th and 18th centuries. Le Grenier à Sel royal was created under François I. Le Temple is the oldest monument in the town of Le Teil.

From Le Teil, Montélimar railway station can be reached in about 10 minutes via bus routes X74 and X76.
