Saint-Genest-De-Beauzon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History
The parish of Saint-Genest-de-Beauzon is considered one of the oldest in Ardèche and is said to have been founded around the year 549. The “Eglise Saint Genest” church is built of stone and finished with lime plaster. It has stained-glass windows signed “Charlemagne” in Toulouse, as well as Stations of the Cross. Its floor plan is cross-shaped and has a circular apse.
The “Filature” is a former spinning mill that Jean-François SAUTEL had built in the 19th century. The former spinning mill can only be viewed from the outside. A “Pléjador”, pronounced “plédjadou”, is a tool carved from stone for making wooden barrel hoops from hackberry wood.
Historically significant livestock markets were held in the hamlet of Cros, and their renown extended far beyond the local area. At that time, the municipality was called “Beaucaire des Cévennes”.
