Culture
The Maison Jean Ferrat is located in the village square of Antraigues-sur-Volane. Its music and video area features Jean Ferrat’s piano, as well as documentaries and television programmes.
Those planning their stay in Antraigues-sur-Volane may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
The Maison Jean Ferrat organises concerts, readings, conferences, exhibitions, workshops and film screenings throughout the year.
A watchtower from the medieval fortress of the Counts of Antraigues has survived and now serves as the church’s bell tower.
“Les têtes sculptées” comprises around 100 sculptures on the calades around the church and forms an open-air museum of contemporary folk art in the southern Ardèche. The first sculptures date from 1995, when Jean Saussac initiated the project.
The Église Sainte-Baudile was built in 1820 on the former garden of the lord of the castle and replaced a chapel of the same name that accidentally burned down in 1816.
The Église Sainte-Baudile consists of a five-bay nave with side aisles, a semicircular apse and a bell tower.
Local traditions
Since 1993, Randamont has held the Fête de la Châtaigne on the last weekend of October.
The Fête de la Châtaigne includes a large market of local producers and craftspeople in the village square and streets, as well as numerous musical events.
The Vallée Bleue connects Vals-les-Bains and Antraigues-sur-Volane; since 2009, a row of 1,000 hydrangeas has been planted along the road.
The Rocher du Fromage is a basalt rock about 12 metres high that stands out from the granite of the rest of the rocky outcrop.
The Rocher du Fromage has been protected as national heritage since 1933.
The Pont de la Tourasse provides pedestrian access to the centre of Antraigues-sur-Volane via a former medieval route; this route once connected Aubenas with the Ardèche uplands.
The “Vallées, châtaignes et volcans” e-bike circuit is connected to Antraigues-sur-Volane.
