Culture and History
The Eglise St Georges in Mornas was built in 1868 and bears the republican inscription “Liberty, equality, fraternity”.

The 14th-century Porte Saint Nicolas is one of the last surviving parts of the fortifications of the village of Mornas. The Chapelle Saint Baudile is a restored Romanesque chapel that can only be viewed from the outside.
The Romanesque church of Notre-Dame du Val Romigier stands at the foot of the fortress and was the parish church of the village of Mornas until 1871. Notre-Dame du Val Romigier has been classified as a historic monument since 1910.

The Forteresse de Mornas walking trail is an easy, family-friendly 2.9-kilometre route with 160 metres of elevation gain and a walking time of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. It passes through garrigue, former quarries, native scrubland and over rocky limestone outcrops.
Just before Mornas, the ViaRhôna continues along the banks of the Rhône on a greenway as far as Caderousse.
The Île Saint-Georges island is located in the immediate vicinity of Mornas. The Île du Colombier, Île du Petit Malétras and Île de la Piboulette islands are also located in the area around Mornas.
