Brantes is home to numerous ceramicists, potters and santon makers. Every two years, during the year-end holiday season, their workshops open as part of “Brantes dans les étoiles”. A walk through the village also leads to the Church of Saint-Sidoine, dating from 1684.

Brantes’ cultural heritage also includes the Chapel of the White Penitents. In summer, it hosts exhibitions presented by the “Amis de Brantes”. The Toulourenc Valley geological trail runs from Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux to Brantes and has 16 information panels on geology and agricultural heritage. The trail focusing on medicinal and poisonous plants runs through the Toulourenc Valley at the foot of Mont Ventoux.

The Brantes botanical trail is themed “Colours, scents and aromas”. The botanical walking route leads to the 12th-century Romanesque Chapel of Saint-Jean-Baptiste. The two offerings have different focuses: the trail centres on colours, scents and aromas, while the walking route leads to the chapel.

Routes and mountains around Brantes

The GR9 has a permanent route change on the Buis-les-Baronnies–Brantes section. Since spring 2021, it has run from Col de Font Combran to Col d’Aiguières over 3.3 km. The GR91 also has a permanent route change on the Poet en Percip–Brantes section: since spring 2021, it has consisted of a 16.3 km route from Ruisseau des Guiberts to Brantes. The different lengths provide two clearly distinct distances for hike planning: 3.3 kilometres on the GR9 and 16.3 kilometres on the GR91.

Mont Ventoux is a mountain in the immediate vicinity of Brantes. Montagne de Banne, Montagne de Serre Gautier and Mont Serein are mountains in the area around Brantes. Along the Ouvèze and Toulourenc, the typical habitats of interconnected river channels support the reproduction of several fish species of community interest. In addition to the mountains, those interested in natural history can also include the river habitats along the Ouvèze and Toulourenc as a distinct landscape aspect.
