Droizy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The former castle of Droizy is a rural fortress of the Soissonnais region built in the Middle Ages. It includes a cylindrical keep from the early 14th century, approximately 22 metres high. The castle also includes an access structure to the keep built in the 14th century and partially destroyed in 1886, as well as a fortification dating from the 14th and 15th centuries.

Culture and History
The protected elements of Droizy’s medieval castle include the access structure to the keep with its gate, the remains of the fortified eastern gate, the enclosing and retaining walls, and the archaeological layers. The access structure, the eastern gate remains, the associated walls and the archaeological layers were entered on the register of historic monuments on 15 March 1995; the keep and the southern and eastern enclosing and retaining walls were classified on 3 March 1997.
The church of Droizy has been entered on the register of historic monuments since 15 June 1927 and features significant construction phases from the 12th and 16th centuries.
At the beginning of the 15th century, the lordship of Droizy belonged to La Hire, a companion of Joan of Arc. Brother Jean founded a chapel in his castle at Droizy, which was endowed by a charter from 1318. According to tradition, Queen Frénégonde achieved a significant victory over Childebert, King of Austrasia, at Droizy in 593.
Routes and Landscape
The “Sortir de la Crise!” cycling route passes through Droizy, through the Crise valley, and then through gently rolling landscapes to Longpont Abbey. The “L'Aisne à vélo: au pays des Claudel” cycling loop names the “Donjon de Droizy Louis Bachoud” as a designated point along the route.
