The Dolmen de la Pierre Cesée has been classified as a historic monument by decree since 8 July 1910. The Tour des rives du Loir is an 8.7 km circular route.

Culture and History

The Dolmen de la Pierre Cesée was a burial chamber surrounded by a tumulus, an earthen mound. The dolmen is one of the sites that welcome visitors.

The Lavoir de Soucelles dates from 1874. The Saint Armel spring is located near the lavoir. It is considered miraculous and is said to cure blindness and gout.

The château has medieval origins and was rebuilt at the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century. The statue of Saint Julien is located in the chapel of Roche-Foulques in Soucelles.

The Sentier du dolmen de Soucelles is a family walk through bocage landscapes and the “la Grande rivière” meadow.

One starting point for the Tour des rives du Loir is located at the car park on Rue Maurice Picard in Soucelles.

Geographical Location

The Bac à chaînes de la Roche Foulques chain ferry connects the two banks of the Loir between Soucelles and Villevêque. The Forêt de Soucelles can be reached from the centre of Soucelles via the D 313 towards Montreuil-sur-Loir, after approximately 5 km.
