Blaison-Gohier: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Culture

Blaison developed around a castle and a collegiate church, both documented since the 11th century. The Church of Saint-Aubin was built in the 11th century and is open to the public as part of the “Eglises Accueillantes en Anjou” network.

In the Raindron area, there are cave dwellings carved into tuff stone, which formerly housed businesses in the village.

Wine and Landscape

Château de Bois-Brinçon is a 19-hectare vineyard using organic and biodynamic farming methods, and offers wine tastings by prior appointment.

Trails

The signposted “Boucle de Blaison” route passes through vineyard and Loire landscapes, offering insights into the village’s heritage as well as views over the Loire Valley.

From Blaison-Gohier, there are audio-guided walks, three hiking trails, the “Vignoble et Patrimoine” interpretation trail and horse rides. The trail is 7.6 km long, marked in red with a grape symbol, and runs through the vineyards and heritage of Blaison-Gohier; it starts and ends in Blaison-Saint-Sulpice. Information panels explain winegrowing, heritage, castles and mills. The route passes Château de Bois-Brinçon as well as a collection of old grape varieties on the grounds of Château de Cheman.

The “La Fosse aux Loups” route is 13.1 km long and starts at Parc Chauvet behind the church in Blaison.

Surroundings

Pignerolles, a château, is located near Blaison-Gohier. Also nearby are Abbaye Saint-Maur de Glanfeuil, a monastery, and Echarbot, a château.

In the wider regional area around Blaison-Gohier lies Le Repaire Urbain, a museum.
