Angrie: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

On the plateau of Landes d'Angrie, characterized by a hedgerow landscape, rocky ridges consisting predominantly of slate promote the development of heathland. The heaths, adjacent meadows and ponds of Landes d'Angrie form a large area of special natural interest. Landes d'Angrie is home to rare and endangered populations of adders and great crested newts.

Trails

The circular trail Les Grés et Terres d'Angrie is 23 kilometers long and starts and ends in Angrie. On foot, the route takes approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes; it is also open to horse riders and mountain bikers.

Culture and history

The Saint-Pierre parish church replaced an older church. It was built from 1869 to 1873 and has the layout of a Latin cross.

The Chapelle Notre-Dame du Coeur immaculé de Marie, dite de la Croix-Poulet, was built from 1845 to 1846. The Chapelle de la Gâchetière was built in 1632.

The Château d'Angrie features trompe-l'œil decorations painted by Achille Léger in its reception rooms. The Château d'Angrie is partially protected as a historic monument and is the first neo-Gothic château in Anjou.

The windmill, known as Moulin-Neuf or Moulin de la Marmite, was probably built in the 17th century. It ceased operating in 1952, was added to the supplementary inventory of historic monuments in 1975, and was restored and put back into operation in 1980.

The Manoir de la Gâchetière is listed as a historic monument; the facades, roofs and chapel are protected. The lime kilns of La Veurière are open to visitors by prior reservation.
