Sainte-Reine-De-Bretagne: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne is part of the Brière Regional Nature Park. The Marais de Brière is a protected natural area with great biodiversity. Those who choose Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne as a holiday destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Nature

The Circuit des Moulins passes through the Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne countryside into the Marais de Brière. Sur les pas de Cadou also runs through the reed beds of the Marais de Boulaie and through landscapes of water, light and mist associated with the poetic inspiration of René-Guy Cadou.

The Parc des Trous à Tenaud offers a waterside walking path, picnic areas by the pond and games for children. It was created from a former clay quarry operated by the Tenaud brothers for brickmaking. The park became the property of the municipality in 1962 and took its present form in 1983.

Culture

The parish calvary was created in 1938 by parishioners, with a grotto and two fountains in an environment characterised by pine and cedar trees. The footpath leading there is lined with poems by René-Guy Cadou. The poet was born in Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne on 15 February 1920 and lived there for seven years.

Behind the church is an old forge dating from 1850. The municipality acquired and restored it in February 2015 and added it to the municipal heritage. The Moulins de la Fortune are the surviving tower remains of up to seven former windmills in Haute Lande; today, the mills are no longer in operation.

The Château du Deffay includes the ruins of an old château dating approximately from the 15th century, as well as a modern château built in 1894. The Dolmen de la Roche aux Fées consists of a granite slab measuring 3.10 m by 1.15 m, resting on four granite pillars. It encloses a chamber approximately 2 m long that is open to the north.

Trails

The GR® de Pays Tour de Brière is a 67 km circular route that can be travelled on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback and passes through Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne. The Circuit de la Roche aux Loups also passes through Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne and offers a rural hike from the Moulin Sérot to the Marais du Gué neuf.

Sur les pas de Cadou is a 19 km hiking route between Crossac and Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne. Boucle 36 Le guidon en Terre Briéronne is a 17 km family-friendly cycling loop through Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne and Crossac. The Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne–Pont-Château link starts in Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne and connects the town with Pont-Château.

Activities

La ferme la Carav'âne offers visits to an educational farm in Sainte-Reine-de-Bretagne by reservation. Activities include treasure hunts, workshops, animal care, as well as pony rides and carriage rides.

Predator fishing is possible at the Étang des Trous à Tenaud from 8 February 2026 to 6 December 2026, and carp fishing from 4 April 2026 to 6 December 2026.
