Paths and Landscapes
The Circuit des Brûlots is an easy, 8.5-kilometre circular trail in Paulx. The Sentier des Brûlots begins behind the Paulx sports hall.
Culture and History
The historic centre of Paulx overlooks the Falleron River. Until the French Revolution, Paulx belonged to the Marches Communes of Brittany and Poitou, a free and defensive border zone. The Place des Basses Marches in the centre of Paulx commemorates the former parish’s special borderland location.
The Chapelle du Pont, also known as the Chapelle Notre-Dame du Pont or Notre-Dame de Pitié, was consecrated on 17 August 1841. It contains a Pietà and two rows of statuettes beneath a star-shaped vault; some of the statuettes come from the former parish church.
The Église Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul is a Neo-Gothic church. Construction began in 1876, it was consecrated in 1879, and its final appearance dates from 1887. The church has stained-glass windows financed by several families from Paulx.
In November 2022, Paulx received twenty memorial plaques for soldiers who fell for France. Recent archaeological excavations in Paulx have brought traces of human settlement to light.

The park of the Château de la Caraterie is listed as a protected site and is associated with the municipalities of Paulx and Saint-Étienne-de-Mer-Morte.
Local Life
The Paulx producers’ market takes place on the first Friday of each month opposite the town hall. The market offers vegetables, meat, cheese, honey, beer and other local products.
The municipal library “Bibliorêve” is located at the Place des Basses Marches and welcomes visitors on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
