Nature
Following renaturation measures along the Ognon, fauna and flora returned there, including common frogs, grass snakes, dragonflies, yellow water lilies, ash trees and alders. The “Passerelle” Circuit leads through the landscape around Montbert. The Circuit La Foye hiking route is 12 kilometres long and takes around three hours. It crosses the Ognon River, follows it for several kilometres and leads through the village of Montbert. It also passes through typical bocage landscapes with wooded paths, cultivated meadows and a pond, and runs through the villages of Geneston and Montbert.
The Boucle vélo n°2 runs along the Redour and Ognon rivers through bocage landscapes, areas shaped by agriculture and wetlands.

The Plan d’eau de Chantemerle has several newer play structures for children and received the “Parcours famille” label in 2018. Aqua 9 is an outdoor swimming pool that is open from May to October. The Circuit de Chantemerle runs around Montbert’s town centre.
Culture
A form of quartzarenite specific to Montbert was found along the Ognon. The Circuit du Patrimoine in Montbert is a 2.8-kilometre route that takes around one hour and is playful, uncomplicated and accessible to everyone.
The sights along Boucle vélo n°2 include the stained-glass windows of Montbert Church, which are dedicated to the soldiers of the First World War. The workshop at Pas-Chalène was discovered in 1878.
