Issus: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Issus is located in a more or less strongly segmented hilly landscape of the Lauragais, with a very hilly terrain. The area is characterized by a dense network of waterways that deeply cuts into the relief. The difference in elevation between Issus's highest point, at 245 metres, and its lowest point, at 170 metres, is 75 metres.

Water

The Hyse River crosses Issus from east to west. The Rieutort stream forms the municipality's eastern boundary, while the Orbail stream forms its western boundary. The Tédélou stream is a left-bank tributary of the Hyse and crosses Issus.

Hiking

Issus has hiking trails that attract visitors, especially at weekends. The “Collines de l'Autan” sector between Issus and Noueilles in southern Sicoval included 73 kilometres of marked routes. The “Sentier des neuf brebis” hiking trail connects Issus and Noueilles.

Issus is shown on the hiking map of Sud-Est Toulousain. Sud-Est Toulousain has a signposted and marked network of 320 kilometres of routes that can be used on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.

Culture

The parish church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption in Issus houses the painting “Sainte Germaine de Pibrac”. It is signed and dated “L. Cazals 1859 LM” at the bottom right of the canvas. The painting depicts Saint Germaine de Pibrac as a young shepherdess praying before a wayside cross; behind her are a flock of sheep and a dog.

The Church of Saint-Sernin d'Issus is a religious monument in the municipality of Issus in the Occitanie region.

Culinary Delights

The “Fèsta d'Issus” was planned as a summer festival organised by the Issus festival committee from 13 to 16 August. The programme of the “Fèsta d'Issus” included a large cassoulet cooked over a wood fire.
