Culture and History

Beneath the porch of the church of Ayguesvives is a Gallo-Roman milestone classified as a protected historic object. The 18th-century Château du Froment has housed the current town hall of Ayguesvives since 2003. The town’s heritage trail also takes up a literary chapter: it recounts the stay of the heroines from “Les Petites Filles Modèles” by the Comtesse de Ségur at their grandfather’s family château in Ayguesvives.

Ayguesvives now has an open-air theatre, a Théâtre de verdure, in the Parc de l’Orangerie. It is integrated into the landscape using locally produced and bio-based materials and provides space for various artistic events in a protected natural setting.

Paths and Water

The Boucle d’En Mauran route runs along the Ruisseau de l’Amadou stream and then along the Canal du Midi. The waterscape also includes the lock of Ayguesvives, also known as the Ticaille lock, which houses an old watermill. Two structures on the Canal du Midi are located in the Ayguesvives area.

Transport

The liO bus route 383 runs from Salles/L’Hers via Ayguesvives to Toulouse UPS (M).
