The Château de Pibrac was built in 1540 by converting an older fortified manor house into a more contemporary pleasure residence. The château’s Cabinet des Quatrains contains a ribbed vault decorated with arabesques and mythological scenes.

The Portail Henri IV is a monumental entrance that was restored in 1890 and listed as a historic monument in 1947. The grounds of the Maison natale de Sainte Germaine and its surroundings have been protected as historic monuments since 25 February 1976.

Religious memorial sites also shape Pibrac. An oratory marks the traditional site of the “miracle of the roses.” Relics are kept in a reliquary at the Église Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. The Fontaine Sainte-Germaine is visited year-round by pilgrims and walkers. The Accueil Sainte-Germaine next to the church provides information for pilgrims and visitors.

Nature

The Aire des Tambourettes has a skate park and a BMX track. The Chemin de la biodiversité des Tambourettes was created by the Jardin Nature Pibrac association over a length of 4 km. It includes a smartphone app available in five languages, providing information about the local flora and fauna at each educational station.

The Chemin de la biodiversité de Pibrac is a 4 km loop that starts at the Parc des Tambourettes and makes the local biodiversity accessible along the Ruisseau du Courbet.

Local Life

Pibrac’s open-air market takes place every Wednesday morning on the Esplanade Sainte-Germaine. The market has around forty vendors.
