Labastide-Paumès: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

The origins of the village of Labastide-Paumès are dated to between 1200 and 1300.

The Sainte-Catherine Church dates from the late 19th century. Renaissance bas-reliefs are located above its entrance portal. The sculpted stone above the church portal dates from before the reconstruction of Sainte-Catherine Church.

The Musée Paysan, a museum of old tools, provides insights into rural life and shows the development of agricultural machinery. It can only be visited by prior arrangement.

History

The main construction phase of the Château dates to the 16th century. The Château includes a round tower with a spiral staircase.

The tower with the spiral staircase and the adjacent walkway have been partially protected as a Monument historique since 31 January 1927.

Cycling

The “Sentier de Saint-Pé-d'Arès” route passes through Labastide-Paumès.

The area around the entry point in Labastide-Paumès is more strongly agricultural in character; short, challenging climbs follow along the edges of the meadows.
