The Cistercian abbey of La Clarté-Dieu is at the heart of Eaunes' local history: it was founded in 1150 by a group of Cistercian monks from Berdoues. The municipality of Eaunes purchased the abbey in 1989. Only the apse and transept of the abbey church of La Clarté-Dieu remain. It is partly classified as and partly listed as a French historic monument; at the same time, it is under full protection.
The restored La Clarté-Dieu Abbey houses the municipal Médiathèque « Marie de France ». The Médiathèque is located in the Cistercian abbey of La Clarté-Dieu, which is classified as French historic heritage. It offers readings, children's events, performances, literary cafés and exhibitions.
Parks and paths
The park of La Clarté-Dieu Abbey was opened to the public after the municipality acquired it. Aqua Elna is a water play area in the park of La Clarté-Dieu Abbey. The Parc de l'Abbaye has play facilities for children aged 3 to 12.
Eaunes also has a wooded area with paths for walking and routes for cycling. An open-air market takes place on Place Clément Ader.
