Benque: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and Tradition
Today’s Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Tourette stands on the site of Benque’s former parish church. The chapel grounds are surrounded by a well-maintained green space.
At the annual celebration of Notre-Dame de la Tourette, bread donated by the municipality is blessed and then distributed to the faithful. On Sunday, 10 August 2025, a mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Benque. A mass has also previously been celebrated outdoors at the small Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Tourette in Benque.
Festivals and Trails
The annual Fête de Benque traditionally begins with a hike. The traditional hike covers 9 kilometres, passes through Vieuxas, Montoulieu-Saint-Bernard, Boussan and le Garros, and returns via la Vierge.
Benque’s annual village festival includes an entrecôte meal accompanied by the French popular music group Lyra; more than 240 people had registered for it.
The pilgrimage from Saint-Pé d'Arès to Notre-Dame-de-Saint-Bernard also includes a hike and leads to the Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Tourette in Benque. After stopping at the Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Tourette, the group of pilgrims continued on towards Notre-Dame-de-Saint-Bernard along partly uneven paths.
