The Montagnes orientales d’Ax-les-Thermes area, to which Tignac belongs, is important for protecting populations of capercaillie and rock ptarmigan. The Montagnes orientales d’Ax-les-Thermes area, to which Tignac belongs, is protected under the 1930 law as well as the European Birds and Habitats Directives.
The Ax 3 Domaines mountain, the Rocher de Scaramus peak, the Serrat de la Coumette peak and the Serrat du Rouan peak are located near Tignac.

Trails
The La Corniche hiking trail passes through Tignac and then descends towards Unac. It leads hikers to the village church of Tignac and then onto a path through former cultivated-land terraces. The sunny hillside location between Tignac and Unac is noted for its landscape of dry-stone walls.
The Balad’ & Train circular routes follow former paths between the villages and provide access to rural features such as fountains, washhouses, cultivated-land terraces, mills and Romanesque churches. The regional hiking trails can be combined with train journeys; the Les Cabannes, Luzenac and Ax-les-Thermes railway stations can be used to return to the starting point.

The village church of Tignac was renovated and officially inaugurated. The Château de Foix is located in the wider region around Tignac.
The Cabane de Roland dolmen lies at an altitude of 1,090 metres. Its preserved height is 1.10 metres; the capstone measures 2.10 metres in length and 1.90 metres in width.
