Le Fossat: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Le Fossat is a fortified village with narrow streets that was built around 1350. Its development can be traced back to a former motte-and-bailey castle that once controlled a ford on the Lèze.
Culture and History
At the centre is the Église Saint-Barthélemy du Fossat, a fortified church from the 14th century. Its sandstone and brick façade is characterised by turrets topped with battlements, as well as a Gothic portal. The fortified façade has been partially protected as a historic monument since 13 July 1926.
Another historic attraction is the Chapelle Saint-André. The Romanesque chapel dates from the 12th century, has a single-nave layout and features small medieval openings.

Local Life
Mounjetado des 1000 is a traditional local festival held in mid-August, where residents and visitors come together for a communal meal. At the 2024 local festival, Mounjetado des 1000 was served in the town hall square.
L'Estafignous is a farm shop in Le Fossat offering local produce from short supply chains. The Marché du Fossat is a small open-air market held on the third and fifth Wednesday of the month.
Outdoors
The Piscine municipale du Fossat is a municipal outdoor swimming pool open during the summer season. The hiking trail from Le Fossat gives visitors the opportunity to discover a preserved landscape.
