Culture and History
The Chapelle de La Croix au Bost is the surviving chapel of a former Hospitaller commandery. It was extensively rebuilt in the 18th century. It also houses a 17th-century ensemble in the form of an altarpiece.
The Eglise St-Domet has a horseshoe-shaped reliquary intended to hold the jawbone of the saint; it is not displayed to the public. The church also contains a 15th-century seated statue of the Virgin and Child, as well as a statue of Saint-Domet dating from the late 17th to the 18th century.
Trails
The GRP® Boucle coeur de Creuse circuit includes a 17 km stage from Peyrat-la-Nonière to Saint-Domet. In addition, the GRP® Marche et Combraille en Aquitaine consists of four long-distance hiking circuits totalling 375 km.
On the GRP® du Franc-Alleu circuit, the church of Saint-Domet is one of the sights and viewpoints.
Visitor Information
The Chapelle de La Croix au Bost is open year-round; however, the opening hours are not currently guaranteed.
