Culture and History
The Church of Saint Martin in Malleret-Boussac is Romanesque in style and listed as a historic monument. It features wall paintings from the 13th, 14th and 17th centuries. The Romanesque Chapel of Saint Peter and Saint Martial in the hamlet of Champeix dates from the 12th century. The chapel contains a funeral drapery bearing coats of arms that match those of the village church of Malleret-Boussac.
La Bonne Font is a spring between Petit Chaumeix and Grand Chaumeix that is said to have miraculous properties.
Food and Drink
An apple festival is held every year in autumn in Malleret-Boussac. The municipal orchard contains fifteen apple trees of old and local varieties. At “Un jardin à croquer”, visitors can identify edible wildflowers and wild plants and learn how to prepare them. The experience includes an approximately two-hour walk through the garden followed by a tasting.
