Linard: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Linard combines waterways, hiking trails and historic sites. The Fayolle stream crosses the commune and flows into the Petite Creuse; the Petite Creuse borders the lower part of the commune of Linard.

Malval is separated from the river by a steep gorge; the small Châtrains stream flows through this gorge.
The “Les Moulins” circular hiking trail passes through a green, very hilly landscape with tranquil and relaxing scenery. The trail is 17 km long, moderately difficult and takes around four hours on foot.
Hiking
The “Les Moulins” circular hiking trail partly follows paths and the Gallo-Roman road. The “De la Chrétienneté à la seigneurie” hiking trail runs through Malval along the Petite Creuse.
Near a picnic area in Linard, there are access points to hiking trails and a Terra Aventura activity.
Culture and History
The Malval priory was founded in 1038. The Château de Malval was built in the 12th century. Construction of the Église Sainte-Valérie de Malval also began in the 12th century; the church was never completed because it lacks a nave.
Today, the ruins of the Château de Malval consist only of the fortified eastern gate, remains of the guard tower in the south, the keep and a guardhouse open at the back. Du Guesclin took possession of the Château de Malval during the Hundred Years’ War.
The Église Saint-Martin de Tours in Linard was rebuilt around 1875. It includes two chapels to the north and south, a pentagonal apse and a western bell tower.
