Culture

In 1953, Jean-Louis ROCHE founded a jousting school in Palavas-les-Flots to train younger participants. From June to the beginning of September, the Lez Canal in Palavas-les-Flots serves as the venue for jousting competitions.

The Musée Albert Dubout in the Redoute de Ballestras in Parc du Levant Albert EDOUARD presents a permanent exhibition and a temporary exhibition renewed in cooperation with the artist’s family. It is located in a former 18th-century fort built to protect the coast.

The Musée du train et de la voiture miniature displays almost 5,000 miniature cars tracing the history of the automobile up to the present day. It also displays one of two former locomotives from the Montpellier–Palavas-les-Flots railway line.

The Phare de la Méditerranée is a converted former water tower with exhibition rooms and a viewing point offering a 360-degree panoramic view.

At In Vino Ballestras, wines from Languedoc and specialities from Hérault are tasted to musical accompaniment. This event takes place on Fridays in June in Parc du Levant in Palavas-les-Flots.
