Culture and History

At the centre of the circular village stands the Château (mairie), a former feudal castle. It was remodelled in the 18th century and features wallpaper decoration dating from 1789. The Château (mairie) is partially protected as a historic monument.

Historic gateways, fortification walls and other visible remains have been preserved in the village. The Castrum Podio Missionis in Puimisson has been documented since 1182 and shaped the later circular form of the village. The former Castrum Podio Missionis became a 12th-century feudal castle, which was remodelled in the 17th century.

The Church of Saint Martin de Pederne dates from the 19th century. In the 1990s, the Théâtre de verdure and a park were also created in the centre of the village.
