Nature and trails

The botanical educational trail of Saint-Jean-de-Cuculles is a marked path with 62 information boards describing various plant species. A footpath leads to Notre-Dame de la Cabasse, a statue dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Notre-Dame de la Cabasse offers views of the village, the surrounding plain and Pic Saint-Loup.

Culture and history

The priory includes a small church built in the 11th century with a single-nave, barrel-vaulted nave. In the 14th century, the priory church was raised by one storey and equipped with machicolations as a refuge for the villagers and as a watchtower. The priory also contains a Visigothic gravestone dating from the 5th to the 8th century.

A village well on La Route des puits was dug in 1880 and is 18 metres deep. The wells along La Route des puits have been preserved and enhanced. A small car park marks the access to the Pont de Yorgues.

Wine and winemaking

Les Remparts de Cuculles offers a day of grape harvesting and winemaking that introduces participants to grape-harvesting and natural winemaking techniques. Wine tastings are offered at the estate at Domaine de Mortiès.

Domaine de Mortiès is located on the southern slope of Pic Saint-Loup in Saint-Jean-de-Cuculles. It comprises 14 hectares of vineyards surrounded by 85 hectares of forest.
