Culture and history
The Église Sainte-Anne preserves several historical traces. Its nave was rebuilt in the 16th century, while the choir is classified as a historic monument. In the late 15th century, Blaise Séguier had a Gothic chapel built on the north side of the choir. The church in L’Étang-la-Ville has also housed the relief “La Dispersion des Apôtres” since at least 1886; it has been classified as a historic monument since 7 May 1907.
The Fontaine Saint-Pierre was built in 1372 for Jean de Montaigu, the lord of L’Étang-la-Ville. Only a sculpted arch remains of it. From 1899, the Roussel family settled in L’Étang-la-Ville in the rented house Les Charmettes in the hamlet of La Montagne. The Croix Saint-Michel is located in the Marly-le-Roi state forest and was classified as a historic monument by decree of 9 June 1938.
Landscape and trails
The orchards of L’Étang-la-Ville inspired artists of the Nabis movement. The Chemin des Impressionnistes runs through the town. There, it passes the Fontaine Saint-Pierre de Montaigu opposite the château at the beginning of the Allée de la Niche.

The historic “rechauffoir” site is located in the vicinity of L’Étang-la-Ville. Also nearby are the ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame d’Abbecourt (Orgeval, Yvelines), the Bois de Boulogne park and the Arche de la Défense.
