Le Désert de Retz now covers 17 hectares and still features seven named structures: the ruined Column, the Tatar Tent, the ruined Gothic Church, the Temple of Pan, the almost completely collapsed Small Altar, the open-air theatre and the Ice Pyramid. The grounds are an Anglo-Chinese garden created between 1774 and 1789.

Culture

From April to October, Le Désert de Retz is open for visits every Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 6 pm; the last admission is at 4:30 pm.

The Maison André Derain is a studio house built at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century. André Derain established several studios there, including one on the first floor. After the work was completed, the Maison André Derain was inaugurated on 12 October 2019 and opened to the public in January 2020. It displays a reconstructed studio and several graphic works by André Derain.

The construction history of the Sainte Clotilde church in Chambourcy-Aigremont probably spans several centuries. The building presumably dates back to the 9th century, the bell tower dates from the 12th century, the nave from the 17th century and the porch from the 18th century. Sainte Clotilde is free to enter: from 1 July to 31 August, the church can be visited daily except Mondays from 9 am to 7 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 7 pm. From 1 September to 30 June, opening hours are 9 am to 7:30 pm daily, and 10 am to 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
