The “Flânerie en boucle” is a signposted walking route between the Pont de Créteil and the Pont de Chennevières, along which visitors can discover the cultural heritage on the banks of the Marne. The circular route passes through diverse architecture featuring pavilions and villas in La Pie, Les Mûriers and La Varenne, and recalls Saint-Maur-des-Fossés’s former history as a destination for excursions and recreation.

Culture and history
The Musée de Saint-Maur - Villa Médicis has held the status of a Musée de France since 10 February 2003. The surviving remains of Saint-Maur Abbey include the Rabelais Tower from 1360, a pillar of the abbey church dating from the 13th century, the apse of the Notre-Dame-des-Miracles chapel dating from the 12th to the 14th century, part of the cellar building and underground passages. Saint-Maur Abbey was founded in 639.
The Church of Saint-Nicolas is protected as a historic monument. Its choir probably dates from 1230 to 1240.
Nature
The “CIRCUIT DÉCOUVREZ LES ÎLES DE LA MARNE À SAINT-MAUR-DES-FOSSÉS” circular route makes it possible to discover the animal and plant life along the banks of the Marne.
Geographical location
The RER A line serves four stations in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. Nearby is the Château de Brevannes, a château. The surrounding area also includes Château de Choisy-Le-Roi, a historic site; the Institut du monde arabe, a museum; the Musée national Picasso, a museum; Île Saint-Louis, an island; the Jardin du Luxembourg, a garden; and Île de la Cité, a park. Further afield in the region is the Bois de Boulogne, a park.
