L'Haÿ-les-Roses: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Roseraie du Val-de-Marne was established as the first garden entirely dedicated to roses.

Nature

The Parc départemental de la Roseraie is a 14-hectare English-style landscaped park with hilly terrain, winding paths and views over the Bièvre Valley.

In 2016, a 600-metre section of the Bièvre was reopened in L’Haÿ-les-Roses, and the river once again flows there in the open air.

Culture

The walls of the nave and the northern aisle of the Église Saint-Léonard, rebuilt in the first quarter of the 16th century and consecrated in 1523 by Bishop François de Poncher, have been preserved. In 1837, the Église Saint-Léonard was given a tower and a southern aisle in the neo-Gothic style; the work was carried out by the architect Billaud. In 1972, the choir and transept of the Église Saint-Léonard were demolished and replaced by a reinforced-concrete hall with an exposed wooden roof structure; the architect was Bahon.

The Fontaine Bronzac was built in 1832 by the mayor at the time, Pierre Bronzac; the cast-iron fountain served as an accessible water point for the residents of L’Haÿ-les-Roses in the town centre.

The Moulin de la Bièvre was built in the 12th century to grind the grain from the fields. Today, it is a cultural and community venue with the community associations centre, an exhibition space and the municipality’s multi-purpose hall.

Getting around

The Promenade de la Vanne is reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. It includes landscaped depressions, benches, children’s play areas, fountains, sports equipment, bicycle racks and bicycle pumping stations. The Promenade de la Vanne is a 1.5-kilometre walking route through L’Haÿ-les-Roses that runs from Cachan to Chevilly-Larue.

Leisure

The Parc départemental de la Roseraie has children’s playgrounds and picnic areas. Departmental and municipal events, as well as concerts, take place regularly in the park.

Events

The Marché de Noël de L’Haÿ-les-Roses takes place from Friday the 5th to Sunday the 7th of December and is the 32nd edition of the oldest Christmas market in Île-de-France. During the three-day festivities, 72 craft and food stalls offer their goods.
