The Massif de l’Arc Boisé offers dozens of walking and cycling trails. The “en pleine nature” cycling tour can be undertaken independently; information boards along the route provide information about the Arc Boisé.

The Forêt de Notre-Dame has been classified as a protected forest since 2016 and is managed by the Office National des Forêts. Almost two-thirds of Boissy-Saint-Léger consists of predominantly wooded natural areas. The Forêt régionale de Grosbois can be reached on foot from the Boissy-Saint-Léger RER A station in 15 minutes.

Culture and history

The Domaine du château de Grosbois in Boissy-Saint-Léger and Villecresnes is partly listed as a historic monument and partly classified as a historic monument. The grounds of the Château du Piple date back to a manor house surrounded by moats and walls, with a chapel, hall and cellar, which were built around 1280 for the Abbey of Saint-Maur.

The Musée du Trot presents the history of trotting racing from the Olympic Games to the present day. In terms of its size and collections, it is considered Europe’s most important museum dedicated to trotting.

The Church of Saint-Léger appears to have been rebuilt in the 16th century. It is associated with a small rural church that existed in the village in the 9th century. The Chapelle du Piple, also known as the Chapel of the Sacré-Cœurs, contains a stained-glass window installed in 1891 depicting Saint-Léger.

Markets and greenhouses

The Marché de la Ferme offers fresh produce, vegetables, meat and fish at its market stalls. A guided tour of Vacherot et Lecoufle’s centuries-old orchid greenhouses takes visitors through a plant world from all continents.
