Culture and History
Chevilly-Larue is home to a particularly old building, the Sainte-Colombe Church: it was built between the 10th and 15th centuries and is one of the oldest churches in Île-de-France. At the same time, it is considered the oldest building visitors can see when visiting Chevilly-Larue.
Chevilly-Larue's architectural heritage includes the Séminaire des Missions, the Saint-Michel Convent and the Sainte-Colombe Church; these buildings are protected as historic monuments. The Séminaire des Missions was founded in 1864 by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit on the former Thoinard de Jouy estate. The estate includes a park of just under 9 hectares that is still preserved. The Saint-Michel Convent was built in Chevilly in 1906–1907 on a site of more than 4 hectares, largely covered with woodland and planted areas.

Everyday Life and Culture
A food market is held every Wednesday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Place Nelson Mandela in the town centre.
The Théâtre-Cinéma Chevilly-Larue André Malraux presents both performing arts and films in an auditorium with 400 seats. Each season, it offers around thirty events for all age groups. The cinema screens just under 300 films every year.
The Maison du conte in Chevilly-Larue welcomes audiences, amateurs and artists and organises around ten performances per year at its own venues and at partner venues. It offers amateurs and professional participants courses, weekends, workshops, masterclasses and conferences on the fundamentals of storytelling.
Nature
Chevilly-Larue has around 29 hectares of public green spaces, 12 hectares of which are managed by the municipality. The arboretum at Clos Saint-Michel is equipped with signs naming the tree species found there.
Chevilly-Larue has seven squares and smaller green spaces with play facilities for children of all ages.
