The Pierre Plate is the most complete Neolithic covered gallery in Presles. It is located on the edge of the Forest of L'Isle-Adam and is 13 metres long.
Culture
Le Blanc Val is a Neolithic covered gallery on Mont-Joly and is approximately 6.5 metres long. The Coffre de Bellevue is a Neolithic megalithic burial chest made of four limestone slabs. It contained the remains of three women, two men and three children and is located in a landscaped clearing decorated with boulders behind the cemetery.
The northern part of Presles church dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. The Parc du château de Courcelles is protected as a “site inscrit” and is located on Rue Alexandre-Prachay in Presles; the park of the Château de Courcelles is privately owned.
Nature
The Marais du Moulin Neuf comprises open wetland habitats with reed beds, sedge marshes and ponds rich in biodiversity.
The municipal wetland has been classified as an “Espace naturel sensible” (ENS) since 2017, serves as a rainwater retention basin and helps combat flooding.
Getting Around
The official PNR route “De Luzarches à Presles en passant par Royaumont!” is a moderately difficult, 20.5-kilometre, three-hour route from station to station.
The “Les Trois Dolmens” route leads from the Église Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois in Presles to Presles-Courcelles station and is a hiking route dedicated to the Neolithic heritage.
Presles-Courcelles is the SNCF stop on the Gare du Nord–Persan-Beaumont line. A first cycling facility has been completed in Presles between the station and the church.
