Culture
The Château des Tourelles was built in 1850 and later became Claye-Souilly's town hall. During the First World War, it served as General Maunoury's headquarters; a commemorative plaque recalls this.
The Église Saint-Étienne is one of the oldest buildings in Claye-Souilly. During the final journey from Paris to Meaux Cathedral, it housed the remains of Bossuet, the Bishop of Meaux. Dating from the 17th century, the building stands on the ruins of a church that was burned down during the Wars of Religion in the 16th century.
La Source Bleue, also known as maison Letellier, has a north-facing façade along the Canal de l’Ourcq and overlooks a damp, tree-filled park. The original La Beuvronette building was constructed around 1910 and was a notable feature of the promenade along the Canal de l’Ourcq. Along Avenue Aristide Briand, an old wall also runs alongside the Canal de l’Ourcq through the centre of Claye-Souilly. For walkers along the canal, it is an architectural reminder of the past.
Nature
The Forêt régionale de Claye-Souilly is bordered to the north by the Canal de l’Ourcq and to the south by the former Dhuis aqueduct, which runs underground. It physically and ecologically connects these two green corridors.
The Forêt régionale de Claye-Souilly is a stop along the Promenade régionale de la Dhuis and offers several viewpoints over the Plaine de France and the Monts de la Goële. Part of the Promenade régionale de la Dhuis belongs to the European Natura 2000 network under the Birds Directive. The banks of the Canal de l’Ourcq near the Forêt régionale de Claye-Souilly have been prepared for walkers and cyclists.
Leisure
Wonderful-Land® in Claye-Souilly is an indoor leisure park covering almost 3,000 m², with dedicated activity areas for children, toddlers, teenagers and adults, as well as for climbing. The WONDER-CLIMB® area at Wonderful-Land® includes 12 climbing walls measuring 7 metres in height.
