In the Parc départemental des Chanteraines, the park railway Chemin de fer des Chanteraines takes visitors through the park for more than 5 kilometres. The full journey between “Les Vallons” and “Les Tilliers” takes more than an hour. From March to October, the park railway runs on Wednesdays and at weekends.

At the Étang des Tilliers, the Parcours ornithologique features several birdwatching stations. Among other species, visitors can observe great crested grebes, kingfishers and cormorants. The park’s natural-themed attractions also include the Ferme des Chanteraines, which is open to everyone and offers environmental education, opportunities to discover animals, and age-appropriate activities. A permaculture garden complements the offerings; families can take part in workshops on gardening, soil life, plants and insects.

Paths and Waterways

The Quais Sisley are part of Villeneuve-la-Garenne’s cultural heritage and invite visitors to go for walks, observe the flora and fauna, and paint. Together with the Quais d’Asnières, the Quais Sisley form a 1,500-metre-long stretch along the Seine between the A86 bridge and the shipyards, lined with remarkable rows of trees.

In the Parcours santé-nature of the Parc départemental des Chanteraines, the routes range from less than one kilometre to ten kilometres. The cycling route La Seine à Vélo also runs through the Hauts-de-Seine département from Villeneuve-la-Garenne to Rueil-Malmaison.

Culture

The “Marie-Louise” was originally called “L’Impressario” and was a 38-metre-long péniche intended for transporting goods. It was cut in half, extended by more than 6 metres and converted into an almost 45-metre-long excursion boat for cruises departing from Villeneuve. Such Paris cruises have been offered there since 1986.

The municipal Max-Juclier cultural centre opens its doors every year to artists from all fields for exceptional exhibitions. The Église Saint-Joseph was built from a chapel that was erected there in 1914.

Leisure

The Centre équestre UCPA des Chanteraines offers riding lessons from the age of four and holiday courses from the age of six. At the “L’Etang” station in the Parc des Chanteraines, the puppet theatre of Compagnie Les Petits Bouffons de Paris presents traditional Guignol shows as well as adaptations of popular fairy tales.
