Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret began work on Villa Stein in spring 1926 and completed the plans in summer 1927.

Those who choose Vaucresson as a place to stay may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Culture

Michael and Sarah Stein commissioned Villa Stein-de-Monzie as a villa that they were to share with Gabrielle de Monzie. By a text dated 30 March 2017, the façades and roofs of the former caretaker’s lodge, the old entrance gate, the property with its garden, the façades and roofs of the villa, and the former service staircase of Villa Stein-de-Monzie were classified as components of a historic monument.

The Saint-Denis Church in Vaucresson, dedicated to Saint Denis, was altered many times over the centuries; its Romanesque bell tower from the 12th century has been preserved. Villa Besnus dates from 1922–1923 and was commissioned by the art critic Georges Besnus, also known as Georges Denoinville. Its façades were arranged asymmetrically.

Vaucresson’s “Bornes patrimoine” form a historical tour with an audio guide and 15 interactive stations. On 19 September 1783, the Montgolfier brothers Joseph and Étienne launched a demonstration in Versailles with a hot-air balloon carrying an animal; the balloon subsequently landed in Vaucresson.

The Centre culturel La Montgolfière in Vaucresson is a venue for cultural and artistic activities. It hosts events and programmes organised by the town, as well as numerous activities run by associations from Vaucresson.
