History

Gustave Eiffel established his workshops in Levallois-Perret in 1866. The former Meunier chocolate factory was subsequently used for automobile manufacturing under Delage, chocolate production, and watchmaking for the Jaeger brand.

Parc de la Planchette is a public garden created on part of the former grounds of Château de la Planchette; the municipality acquired the site in 1924.

Nature

For Parc de la Planchette, the city provides an orienteering course map. The park is open from April 1 to September 30 in summer from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. or 10:00 p.m., respectively, and from October 1 to March 31 in winter from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Les Ruches de Levallois comprises 41 beehives on Île de la Jatte and in Parc Alsace. Levallois honey is blossom honey with distinctive notes of lavender and acacia; the annual harvest is sold at Levallois Découvertes.

The Maison de la Pêche et de la Nature displays fish species from the Seine in 40 freshwater aquariums. It also has a collection of fishing rods, reels, and other fishing equipment that traces the history of this age-old tradition, as well as a fishing school for children aged 8 to 16. The offerings are complemented by thematic workshops on the Seine and Levallois-Perret’s apiary, as well as nature exploration activities.

Île de la Jatte lies within the territories of Levallois-Perret and Neuilly-sur-Seine and offers walks along the riverbanks.
