Montgeron: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The completed Liaison Verte runs along the Yerres in Montgeron, providing a walking and recreation area across the entire municipality. It is also part of a planned continuous footpath along the Yerres between Villeneuve-Saint-Georges and Varennes-Jarcy; of the planned 23 kilometres, 19 had already been developed.

Nature
The Liaison Verte can be accessed via Avenue du Maréchal Foch at the level of the equestrian centre, as well as via Rue du Moulin de Senlis. From the Plaine de Chalandray, it is possible to reach the Liaison Verte along the Ru de la Navette.
Around 500 hectares of the Forêt de Sénart lie within Montgeron. Activities available there include jogging, cycling, inline skating and walking, as well as hiking, cycling tours and horse riding. The Forêt de Sénart contains numerous ponds inhabited by several species of frogs and other amphibians, including protected species; typical forest animals are also found there.
The renaturation of the Ru de la Navette in Montgeron reopened the stream, which had previously run partly underground, and restored several wetlands.
Culture and History
La Pelouse stretches for 1.4 kilometres from Place de l’Europe to the Forêt de Sénart. The publicly accessible grounds are suitable for walks; events held there over the course of the year include the Heritage Days, a holiday village, open-air cinema and the town festival. La Pelouse originated from three avenues laid out between 1698 and 1708 from the forecourt of the now-vanished Château de Montgeron and designed on the model of Versailles.
The Église Saint-Jacques is fully protected as a historic monument; it was listed on 28 January 2021. It was rebuilt in 1855–1856 in the Neo-Romanesque style with some Neo-Gothic motifs and features decorative stained-glass windows. In the Chapelle Saint-Joseph, a mosaic depicting the Flight into Egypt is located above the altar.
The Musée municipal Josèphe Jacquiot presents four collections in a former manor house: local history, medals, prints and Egyptian artefacts. The museum offers temporary exhibitions and lectures throughout the year, as well as free guided tours of its permanent and temporary exhibitions on request.
The existence of the Moulin de “Senlices” has been documented since 1456; the oldest parts of the present building appear to date from the 17th century. In 1902, Eugène Esnault-Pelterie transformed the Moulin de Senlis into an elegant residence inspired by Neo-Gothic style, which welcomed, among others, François Coppée, Giacomo Puccini and Leonetto Cappiello.
The orangery of the Château de Rottembourg served as Claude Monet’s studio. Édouard Manet and Alfred Sisley were also regular visitors to the Château de Rottembourg.
Transport Connections
Montgeron-Crosne station is served by RER line D; Paris-Gare de Lyon can be reached on this line in approximately 20 minutes.
