The Église Saint-Denis contains a fresco depicting the education of the Virgin Mary by Saint Anne. Since 6 March 1926, it has been listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments. The church was probably built during the first period of the Gothic era, in the 12th to 13th century, and shows traces of Romanesque elements.

Anyone wishing to explore Moigny-sur-École through its church, landscapes and local specialities may want to rent a holiday apartment.

Culture

The Lavoir Saint-Roch was built by the municipality in 1866 at the Saint-Roch spring. It was restored by the municipality and has a three-sided roof.

La carrière Les grès de Fontainebleau is the last remaining active Fontainebleau sandstone quarry. Sandstone from La carrière Les grès de Fontainebleau was used for restorations at the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles, Les Invalides and the forecourt of Chartres Cathedral.

The Grotte au Violon is a prehistoric cave in the forests around Moigny-sur-École; its rock engravings are shaped like violins.

Landscape

The Vallée de l’École has been classified as a protected landscape since 22 March 1978 because of its picturesque character.

The La Ferme de Launay circular trail is fully signposted, with yellow markings. On the plateau, the circular trail follows an old Roman road and passes through the Platière de Bellevue.

Until the A6 motorway opened, the Vallée de l’École connected old buildings typical of the Île-de-France around the church with completely undeveloped areas characterised by agriculture and forestry.

Local

The recently renovated Passage à Gué is a small footbridge between Moigny-sur-École and Courances over the École, providing access to the Moulin Grenat.

At the Marché rural en Gâtinais, visitors can discover local crafts and sample regional products and various specialities. Le Moulin du Ruisseau produces watercress in Moigny-sur-École and sells it in bunches and as soup.
