Courances: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de Courances has been partially classified as a historic monument (Monument historique) since June 27, 1983. The Domaine de Courances covers 86 hectares and includes a park with two-hundred-year-old trees.

The Château de Courances can be visited as part of a guided tour; at the same time, it remains a privately owned and inhabited residence. Courances is also home to the Église Saint-Étienne, with a fortified bell tower dating from the 16th century.

Nature and Trails

The banks of the École in Courances are classified as an Espace Naturel Sensible. Visitors can walk across the lawns in the park of the Domaine de Courances. Another route through the landscape is the family hiking loop “Autour du Château de Courances”: it connects Courances and Moigny-sur-École and passes by the Domaine de Courances.

Culinary Delights

La Foulerie, where hemp was processed in the 17th century, is now a tea salon. Les Jardins de Courances produce fresh fruit and vegetables for sale, as well as honey harvested at the château. The Cressonnière du Moulin du Ruisseau offers watercress for self-service harvesting, as well as various watercress-based preparations.

At the Domaine de Courances, there are free, unguarded parking spaces for cars and coaches opposite the château gates. The Château de Courances is not directly accessible by public transport.
