History and Culture

The present-day Church of Saint-Côme-et-Saint-Damien was built as a castle chapel in 1587. The Château de Villebon was damaged by a fire in 1611; its reconstruction took more than thirty years. In 1920, the Château de Villebon became the property of the École de l’Île-de-France.

The two Courtabœuf water towers received the “Architecture Contemporaine Remarquable” designation in 2024. The Haras de Villebon is one of the notable elements of Villebon-sur-Yvette’s architectural heritage.

The Grand Dôme de Villebon-sur-Yvette was built in 1994 on the occasion of the Francophonie Games and financed by the Conseil Général de l’Essonne.

Golf

The Golf de l’Yvette is located at the Centre Sportif Saint-Exupéry, Rue Las Rosas de Madrid, in Villebon-sur-Yvette. It offers an introduction to golf as well as the opportunity to play golf recreationally or competitively. The Golf de l’Yvette offers golf lessons and preparation courses for the Carte Verte.
