Viry-Châtillon: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

On its enclosed body of water, the Club Nautique de Viry Chatillon Voile offers sailing, adaptive sailing, paddleboarding and wing foiling.

Culture

The church in Viry-Châtillon was listed as a Monument historique by decree of 16 July 1925. The Lavoir-fontaine/abreuvoir bears the Île-de-France region’s "Patrimoine d’intérêt régional" label and has been documented since the 17th century. During restoration in 2015, it regained its metal roof on wooden sheathing with cast-iron supports.

The cultural heritage also includes the Domaine de Piedefer with a wooded park dating from the 19th century. The park is laid out along a canal and overlooks a French parterre and a 17th-century orangery.

The Nymphée has been classified as a Monument historique since 22 March 1983 and is considered one of the few surviving examples of this type of decoration, popular under Louis XIV. Its vaulted room was built between 1674 and 1692 and subsequently enriched with shells and rockwork from the older decorations of an earlier pavilion that had been demolished.

Port-Aviation is considered the world’s first organized airfield.

Near Viry-Châtillon lies the Château de Brevannes, a castle. The Château de Choisy-Le-Roi, a historic site, is also located nearby.
