The Rémarde flows through Le Val-Saint-Germain. Its banks, as well as the forests north and south of the valley, are classified as sensitive natural areas in the Essonne department.

Nature
The protected Parc du château du Marais includes a wooded park and a French garden. It is partially protected as a Monument historique.
Culture and History
Around one hundred Sainte-Julienne candle stubs have been preserved in the church and can be viewed there. There is also a small museum in an adjoining room. It displays ecclesiastical vestments and explains the significance of their colours and patterns.
The historic pilgrimage to Sainte-Julienne attracted thousands of pilgrims to Le Val-Saint-Germain every year. There is a bust of the saint at the Sainte-Apolline spring; a wooden bust image is now displayed in a niche.
Outside church services, the church remained closed for security reasons. Jean-Paul Vernet of the Art religieux et patrimoine association offered to open it to visitors.
Activities
The Ecurie du Marais – Hopps family stables offers riding lessons for children and adults. The smartphone experience trail “A la recherche des personnages célèbres du village” also leads through the streets of Le Val-Saint-Germain. It conveys the connection between local personalities and the village, as well as its most important buildings.
