History
The Notre-Dame de Jarcy Abbey was founded in 1269 by the Countess of Toulouse and Poitiers, the sister-in-law of Saint Louis. Several cellars, the beginnings of underground passages and the base of the former “Tour des cloches” turret remain from the abbey church of Notre-Dame de Jarcy; the Tour des cloches is visible from the road.
The Moulin de Jarcy is a water mill acquired by the nuns in 1279 and belonging to the abbey’s estate.
La Feuilleraie is an 18th-century manor house and bears the “Patrimoine d’intérêt régional” label.
