Orsay: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Temple de la Gloire was built in 1801 and was partially listed as a Monument historique on 27 September 1979. The private building can be visited in summer.

Culture

The Église Saint-Martin-Saint-Laurent in Orsay was founded in 1151. It has a choir and a bell tower; the oldest part, the bell tower, is Gothic in style. The Crypte d’Orsay beneath the funerary chapel of the Église Saint-Martin-Saint-Laurent is an exhibition space for contemporary art.

The archaeological site of the Villa Gallo-Romaine de Moulon remains open to the public.

Paths and Water

The Way of St. James, designated as the long-distance hiking trail GR 655 – Ouest, passes through Orsay on the route from Paris to Tours, by Lac du Mail. The lake in Orsay invites visitors to enjoy a bucolic walk by the water. The Promenade Lecomte de Lisle runs along the Yvette and connects Orsay with Palaiseau in a green setting.

Nature

The Jardin Botanique de Launay – Université Paris-Saclay has held the label “Jardin botanique de France et des pays francophones”, awarded in 2001, and comprises collections of around 3,000 taxa. The garden is open daily all year round.
