Wine

The Fruitière Vinicole de Pupillin is a wine-tasting cellar, specialist wine shop, cooperative and wine producer in Pupillin. Its tasting room is open year-round on weekdays and at weekends and offers wine tastings. The Fruitière also offers cellar tours, guided tours of the facilities and wine tastings.

The statutes of the Fruitière Vinicole de Pupillin were adopted on 13 February 1909 with 33 members and 23 hectares of vineyard area.

Culture

The Petit temple antique ou fanum at Le Bioulet in Pupillin is a Gallo-Roman site dating from the Roman imperial period. It was listed as a historic monument by decree of 2 November 1987.

The Oratoire Saint-Léger is located on the Chemin des vignes; the demarcation line once ran at the foot of the oratory.

The fountains in Pupillin include the Fontaine des Tourterelles, with a roof made of limestone slabs and basins.

Landscape and Trails

The “Pupillin, capitale du Ploussard” circular trail is 6 kilometres long and passes through the vineyards of Pupillin. The L'arboretum de Pupillin circular trail is also 6 kilometres long, passes through the forest of Pupillin and includes an arboretum with 26 species growing in the municipality. It also leads to the remains of a Gallo-Roman fanum dating from the 1st to the 4th century.

The Belvédère at the southern entrance to Pupillin offers panoramic views over the vineyards of Pupillin and the Jura plain. The Belvédère includes a picnic area, an observation kiosk and an orientation board.

The Balade à Pupillin is an easy 5.9-kilometre hiking trail with a stated duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It passes along a vineyard slope with successive terraces of hard limestone and marl slopes.
